Three surveys were required in Barnet Tunnels Centre bore.
The first survey was a void scan using the CALs system to workout the volume and cap shape of the hidden shaft located at Tab 70.
A pointcloud survey of the tunnel was also required which was used in conjunction with a thermal camera to help identify areas where water ingress was effecting the OLE insulators.
All the surveys were carried out successfully by David McCrory, Jonathan McCrory and Josh Brazil.
Scantech International carried out a 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry survey of Barnet Centre Bore Tunnel to support ClearRoute gauging analysis.
The survey has also created a high-accuracy digital baseline for future monitoring, asset management and engineering works, alongside a full 3D model that can be utilised across multiple Network Rail disciplines.
Generation 4 3D model. Tunnel scanned at 10 metre intervals to approximately Tab 250, with the remaining section scanned at 20 metre intervals due to possession time restrictions. Reduced scan intervals may result in lower point density and reduced detail within some areas of the model and tunnel maps.
